Our Current Breeding Dogs
Wheatens typically have one of two coat types, Irish or American. Both coats have hair not fur and require regular brushing and grooming. Think of it as caring for your own hair. The Irish coats is considered the standard. Irish coats are generally silkier and slightly wavy to curly. The American coat is a thicker more dense coat. My dogs are more of a blend of both but I will mention which they lean towards in description of the individual dogs.
Wheatens in general get along well with children and other dogs, socialization is key. They are very devoted and love their families more than anything. As a result they are not a good dog to be crated all day everyday, they need human contact. Having them in doggy daycare or a dog walkers is a great alternative. Once out of the adolescence they adapt well to the activity level of the family. This makes them a great dog of all ages.

In order for my breeding dogs to be in family environment in a home instead of kennels I utilize the foster to own program. Basically it allows me to breed dogs that never have to be taken out of the only home they have ever known once they are done breeding. They are already in their forever home. All puppies live with me me once weaned for the last few weeks so I can work on additional socialization and environmental exposure. Regardless of where they live I am very involved in every step of the breeding , birthing and puppy raising process.
